While waiting for the third part of the chuunin examination to begin, Naruto trains with Jiraya, Sasuke trains with Kakashi, and some poor sod has the misfortune to challenge Gaara to a fight. In the middle of the night. While the full moon is up. Can you get any stupider? Well, the guy didn't know, and we got to see a sneak preview of Gaara's scary "true" form. A little later, we get to find out the secret plan of the Sand nins, hinted a couple of times in the earlier chapters. Apparently, the are going to start a war against the Hidden Leaf village. Yes, four against a whole city... The reason is that the ruler of the Wind country (in which the Hidden Sand village is) has cut down the funds to the shinobis because of the treaty between the two countries. As a result, the Hidden Sand village had to raise the skill of the shinobis in order to maintain their defense. Apparently they've thought that enough is enough, though, and to teach their ruler a lesson, the Sand will start a war to get more funds. Or so they think... Baki explains all this to Gaara, Temari and Kankuro, and reminds Gaara that this is why he war created; to become the best shinobi ever and become a tool for their village. I just love the look on Gaara's face when Baki says that. You can tell that he's clearly unhappy about being reminded of why he exist.
